Oct. 2 was the grand opening Saskatoon’s Chief Mistawasis Bridge, the culmination of years of planning.
Hundreds of people, including residents and leaders from the City of Saskatoon and Mistawasis Nehiyawak, filled the bridge for the ceremony, which started with a grand entry.
“I’m humbled that our young people are here with us…These youth are our future,” said Daryl Watson Chief of Mistawasis Nehiyawak, during the ceremony.
“Chief Mistawasis was a visionary. He is smiling down on us today,” said Mark Arcand, Saskatoon Tribal Council chief.
