NIPISSING — The Nipissing First Nation is getting government support to manage the Lake Nipissing fisheries and assist the recovery of the walleye population.
The Ontario government has a new memorandum of understanding that came into effect March 11 and ends March 10, 2022. According to a March 12 press release, the new agreement includes:
· Establishing strong relationships between Ontario and the Nipissing First Nation that respect the First Nation’s treaty rights to commercially fish the waters of Lake Nipissing;
