SLAAMB celebrates heavy equipment operator graduates – Sioux Bulletin

The Sioux Lookout Area Aboriginal Management Board (SLAAMB) honoured graduates of their heavy equipment operator program with a dinner ceremony at the Sunset Suites on June 14.

Graduates, families, guests and staff were greeted with a delicious buffet meal, which was then followed by the ceremony and presentation of certificates.

With the Ontario heavy equipment operator’s certificate, students are able to work in their communities or expand further.

“Students could potentially get in to mining, road construction, hydro projects and also local communities working on roads, gravel pits or even at the dump,” said Patal International College of Winnipeg outpost director Terry Sakiyama.

Sakiyama was also very pleased to announce that this year’s program had a 100 per cent graduation and employment rate.
